Mugshot first came together in 2018 for the Balladtown contest, hoping for a “shot at the mug”—a pewter stein awarded as the trophy. We didn’t win, but we discovered how much we loved creating our mixed-harmony sound. After a pause during the pandemic, bass Scott joined us in 2022, fitting into the quartet as if he’d always been there. Maria and Katie grew up as “barberbrats” in the EVG district, while Rob entered the hobby in college and Scott through the Aloha Chapter in his 20s. Now we’re all proud members of PDX Voices and so grateful for their ongoing support. Our Mug-family loves Disney trips, classic old fashioneds, supporting each other through thick and thin, and, of course, ringing some screaming chords!

With over 120 combined years of barbershop experience, this is each member’s first quartet championship of any kind. We couldn’t be more excited and honored to be added to the great quartets that have come before us, and support this district in both song and service. In the meantime, see you at the glow!
